Actually, this is how we got canned food. Nappy I and a prize with the idea being a better way to feed the army in the field.
The first canned meals were actually in champagne bottles since they were built to handle the stresses involved in the process. Mighty classy looking, chicken soup with peas from a fancy bottle. Not sure how SPAM would go over served this way.
