Ukulele Phil and the Hula Kids

About a year ago I created a logo for Ukulele Phil and the Hula Kids. The logo consisted of three elements, each a figure. I created the figures so the elements could be used together or separated and moved around. The tiki head, ukulele and such. Phil has been taking advantage of this as he puts together swag and posters. He send me this, his most recent poster.

The Return of Stickman #1090

As you might have guessed, this joke has some real world roots. In junior high I ran a table in the back of the library. But half the time we played blackjack and I was the house. The lookout got twenty percent. In college I was usually the only sober one at the table. Online poker was a cold bucket of reality.

The Return of Stickman #1089

I live on the west coast and I go to bed at ten o’clock. Since I don’t watch any of the late night shows that appear after the news it’s hard to form an opinion about any of them. But, just like the rest of the world, I have been upset over a poor decision by some television executive to change on of my favorite shows. So part of me can relate to the support being shown. And I think that it sucks to have your time slot moved around so quickly. So I'm with Coco. I just wonder what this looks like to somebody who watches no television at all. And I'm wondering on the shelf-life of this gag.

The public has been informed that the bobbies in question got a stern talking to about the inappropriate use of official equipment. No word on kayaks as bobsleds.

The Comic Critic Reviews Avatar

I thought I posted this review last Saturday. Sorry about the delay.

I don’t like telling folks they have to go see a film, but you need to go to a theater and see this one now. And you need to see it in 3D to get the full, spectacular experience. After you’ve seen it, make up your own mind as to whether or not it is a ten in your book or not. Why didn’t I give it a ten? Well, that font thing still bugs me.

The Return of Stickman #1086

I can’t help but wonder at the quality level of these purchased friends. What if all these friends lived in Nigeria and are widows of a cabinet secretary with lots of mullah hidden away in a bank account that only you can help get access? Or what if all they tweet about is about enhancement pills? I’ve a hard enough time keeping spammers off of my twitter without purchasing them. Besides, your social networking friends should be people who are your friends and acquaintances. What I like about twitter is that they don’t use the word friends; they use the word “followers”. I like that terminology a lot better.

I want to thank Chris Gordon for sending in this guest strip. Chris does a vile little comic that doesn't give a sod about political correctness. Only go see it if you want to be appalled Apathy Unlimited.

I have a few friends on Facebook who send me messages in Spanish. Since I don't speak Spanish I rely on internet translator programs. As you might have guessed, they are not the most accurate translations.
