The Comic Critic Reviews Keeping Mum and The Return of Stickman #909

A story involving murder doesn’t have to contain huge amounts of suspense or crescendos of violence to be entertaining. Sometimes all you need is a little warm humor and a nice solid whack. Oh, and a sweet endearing little old lady--that helps a lot. And secrets. Yes, murder is all about keeping secrets. Or, at the very least, trying to keep secrets. So, if you want to see a slightly heartwarming film that just happens to contain a murder or two in it, you might want to add Keeping Mum to your list.

I drew this strip, and then discovered another cartoonist also was having fun with the story. Check out this strip on PVP.

My New Year Resolution was to be just a wee bit less self censoring. I don't know if that means edgier strips or my willingness to use odd real life stories more. We will see how long this resolution lasts.

I love it when my friends, or even complete strangers, submit guest strips. If they follow the size and format I have always posted them. Sam Day is a long-time friend and most excellent cartoonists, illustrator, and fine artist. This is yet another one of his fine submissions. His blog is dedicated to wedding and event paintings which he does live.

One of my friends used to chew. He still might. But, if he does, he doesn't advertise. Maybe his wife broke him of it. Or maybe he finally got tired of spitting into cups.

My heart goes out to all those folks who attended parties only to end up driving the porcelain bus.
