The Return of Stickman #921
This strip was inspired by the news of Goody's liquidation, which came as a brutal surprise to it's corporate employees.

The Comic Critic Reviews Z Channel
I enjoy watching the occasional documentary. And I have fans that have been asking me to review more documentaries. When I learned of Z Channel: A Magnificent Obsession I immediately added it to my must see list. The Z Channel was a cable channel that was only available in a small area in California. Up here in the Pacific Northwest, our family received Showtime as part of a basic cable setup. Cable was still very new, and like the rest of the world, our only television experience until then was broadcast. Now, as you might guess, I love watching movies. And having Showtime was like having manna from heaven. And thanks to the Z Channel and its influence on the industry I was able to enjoy the benefits. I was able to see Heaven’s Gate in its full-uncut glory. And that was just one of a hundred pleasures I was able to experience due to the influence of the Z channel.

The Return of Stickman #920
I was a huge fan of the The Prisoner. My imagination was especially captivated by the Rover. My friend Bill, one of the creators of Unshelved, is also a big fan and he liked this strip enough to post about it in his blog.

I've already received a flood of mail informing me that the correct quote is SOFT Corinthian Leather, not smooth, not rich, but SOFT. Thank you all!

The Comic Critic Reviews Just Add Water
Just Add Water is pleasant movie. Well, some of the subjects touched on are not pleasant. But, what is pleasant is the nice even pacing of the film. I enjoy a movie that doesn’t hurry itself and has an even approach to the characters that’s in keeping with the storyline. The grittier moments in the film compliment the dark humor that’s constantly underneath the surface, humor that might look possibly look campy otherwise. And that would spoil the tone of the film. This is a quiet little morality film that doesn’t preach or scream. But, while it might have been overlooked in the theater I don’t think it should be overlooked at home. It’s perfect if you want something a little milder than the normal fair but with plenty of heart.

The Return of Stickman #914
This bit of news came out of a reporter’s interpretation of an interview with the son of the Big Bopper. The real story is a lot less titillating.

The Comic Critic Reviews Keeping Mum and The Return of Stickman #909
A story involving murder doesn’t have to contain huge amounts of suspense or crescendos of violence to be entertaining. Sometimes all you need is a little warm humor and a nice solid whack. Oh, and a sweet endearing little old lady--that helps a lot. And secrets. Yes, murder is all about keeping secrets. Or, at the very least, trying to keep secrets. So, if you want to see a slightly heartwarming film that just happens to contain a murder or two in it, you might want to add Keeping Mum to your list.

The Return of Stickman #907
My New Year Resolution was to be just a wee bit less self censoring. I don't know if that means edgier strips or my willingness to use odd real life stories more. We will see how long this resolution lasts.
