The Return of Stickman #1255

I guess there are worse things in life than having a dog give you diagnosis of colon cancer.

The Return of Stickman #1197 & #1198

After viewing this stickman, my good friend John Schmelzer could not resist in sending me a follow-up guest strip. Thanks, John! And for those of you who were about to ask... No. J.P. Schmelzer is not J.P. Patches, that is a different clown all together.

The Return of Stickman #1158

I hate American news media. Here the Chinese have done something fantastic, they've entered the space race. And the only thing the U.S. can find in way of response in the news outlets? They ate some dog. Most new outlets didn't mention the fermented rice soup, the spicy pig skin, or the other really yummy foods they had on the trip. (Don't knock fermented rice soup if you haven't had it.) The media was working the Asian stereotype angle so hard on this story I'm surprised nobody used the headline: "It's not Tang!" Hooray for the Chinese! Kudos to them for getting into space. And thank you American news media for once again making the citizens of our country look like a bunch of nimrods.

The Return of Stickman #1155

This story is a supreme example of internet procrastination. There is absolutely no reason in the world to surf for this news story other than putting something off. Or in this case, putting off anything.

The Comic Critic Reviews: A Boy and His Dog

I might have posted this review of A Boy and His Dog a long time ago, but when I checked the site earlier today I didn’t find it anywhere. So, I’m posting it again. Hopefully it will stay up this time. My brother Randy told me about this movie. Now my memory fails me because I can’t remember if he dragged me to the theater or I sat down one evening to watch it on Showtime. But, what I do remember is that I did see it for the first time with him, and that we had a blast watching it together.

The Return of Stickmna #998

This is just one more reason that I think most people should not have dogs. Oh, I’m a big dog lover. I grew up with a dog and I’d have a dog right now if my wife and I weren’t flying every other week on business. I still want a dog. And I can guarantee you that if I got in a fight with my wife I would not take it out on the dog. What type of message are you sending to your spouse by duct taping the dog to the refrigerator that you can’t say directly to his face? Good luck, Rex!

The Return of Stickman #946

I guess there is no such thing as a desk job for police dogs. So, there is no gentle way to ease them into retirement when they get hip dysplasia. It must be very frustrating for them not to take a bite out of crime.

I have to worry about anyone who keeps twenty-two dogs in their car.

Media Inc. Ad

With all the traveling I did this month, I’d forgotten that I was scheduled to get a quarter page ad into Media Ink last Friday. Thankfully, the magazine gave me a call and reminded me. My problem was that a project I took on last week grew a little bit. Once I met the client’s deadline I found I only had a few hours to complete my own ad. So, I flipped through the pile of portfolio samples and found an image of which I was rather proud. I quickly thought up a line of copy and banged out my ad. Naturally, I think this is a clever ad, perfectly honed for the audience to which the magazine is distributed. Still, I’m curious as to what other people think. How would you score this ad on a scale of one to ten?
