The Return of Stickman #1383

If you don't have enough common sense not to take your cat jogging, then of course you're not going to have enough common sense not to tie it to a rock while you finish your exercise. Here's the news story that inspired the strip.

The Return of Stickman #1294

Sometimes I wonder how many references would pop-up if I did a keyword search in this comic strip for the word 'rabies', or for 'Georgia' for that matter.

Ha! Made you look.

The Return of Stickman #1138

FYI: The cat weighed ten pounds going in and came out weighing only three. No name was given for the cat in the story. That is very odd. All I can think is that the cat didn't have a name or its name was something terrible, like Hitler.

The Return of Stickman #1136

Only 40% of cats carry this germ. And even fewer people react strongly to it. But every now and then you get a perfect storm and the next thing you know you have a couple of balloons under your arms and you're wondering if you got the plague. Not that I ever caught it, mind you.

I can't help but think that if your government is telling you that your cat is attacking people, you might consider that slim chance that Tiger is stepping onto the wild side.

The Return of Stickman #1103

The news article I read about this show then went on to give a recipe from the 16th century. It involves garlic, olive oil and a spit.

The Comic Critic Reviews "Rubin and Ed" (1991)

After reading this strip I’m sure many of you want to ask, “What’s with the fez?” Well, about a year and a half ago, a few cartoonists in Tacoma got together for a brainstorming session, the goal of which was to start a local group for cartoonists who live in the Southern Puget Sound Region. We decided that most of our meetings would be dedicated to sitting around and drawing with each other, just for fun. We also decided that it should be a secret society filled with silly ceremonies, arcane references to pop culture, and, of course, fezzes would be involved. Thus was born the C.L.A.W. (Cartoonists League of Absurd Washingtonians). And this strip captures a brief moment from one of those gatherings.

If you are wondering why RR Anderson had me at “A frozen, but quickly thawing, dead cat,” then you might want to check out another true-life adventure captured in comic moments that I drew as the subject matter for a 24 Hour Comic Challenge, “The Infamous Dead Cat Story.”

The Return of Stickman #957

Okay, I might have smoked a little when I was a kid. And, the cat too, maybe.

I believe that Mary Jane should be legalized, and then taxed just as heavily as cigarettes and beer. At the very least we'd be able to purchase cheap rope again as low grade hemp would again to be grown by farmers again. And, no, I don't smoke.

Okay, this might not have been just the way things went down. But, it might have been.

How to use an inhaler on a cat

When the veterinarian told us that our cat needed medication to treat her bronchitis, we expected the prescription to be in the form of pills. We were shocked to find out that we would be treating her with an inhaler! Just how do you get a cat to suck in medication from an inhaler? Apparently, you use a device similar to one created for treating infants. The instructions that came with it provided a verbal description, but their imagery left a lot to be desired, so I drew this how-to-help-your-cat illustration.

Cat and Spool from Napkin Sketchbook

Running cats is a favorite topic I like to draw over and over again. Here’s one from my napkin sketchbook. There is a dry erase board on the fridge at home where I draw new ones from time to time. (I wait to see when my wife notices the changeover.)
